Ear health check
Every appointment begins with a check of the health of your ears. You will be asked a series of questions to determine the history of the health of your ears and whether it is appropriate to have wax removed from them. Following this, your ears will be examined using a video otoscope which will take high quality digital images of your ears. These photos will be stored on your record to track and monitor the health of your ears over successive visits. You will be given a verbal report of the health of your ears and their suitability for wax removal.

Ear wax removal
After confirming that wax removal is necessary and appropriate for one or both of your ears, the wax will be removed using either microsuction or manual instruments, whichever is most suitable.

Microsuction involves inserting a thin suction tube into your ear canal to gently suck the softened wax out of your ears.

Wax may also be removed using either a small hook or a pair of forceps.
